Red White and Blue Fruit Sparklers | Easy Patriotic Appetizer Recipe
How to Make Red White and Blue Fruit Kabobs?
Cut the watermelon in slices, with enough width to fill up your star cookie cutter.
Use star cookie cutter to make star shaped watermelon pieces. I use the smallest star on this cookie cutter set.
Rinse the strawberries and blueberries. Cut strawberries in halves or fourths.
For the foil firework picks: I start spearing the fruit, alternating between watermelon, blueberries and strawberries. Make sure you pierce the fruit in the middle so it stays on the pick. My kids love helping out with the step and making their own fruit patterns!
For the paper straws: Pierce the paper straw through the middle of the star shaped watermelon. Add a blueberry in the center of the star watermelon. To get the blueberry to stay on the watermelon star, I use a toothpick to dig out a small circle for the blueberry to press into.
Place your finished fruit skewers and fruit sparklers in a festive dish or upright vessel.
Store in refrigerator until ready to eat! Enjoy!
