Anyone else melting in this summer heat? This mama needs a frozen cocktail!
It was 110 degrees last weekend in Texas and the heat is here to stay. Trying to stay refreshed and not lose my sanity, I thought I’d make an easy grapefruit frosé (frozen rosé) recipe to sip on while trying not to melt. I’ve joined five of my blogger friends for the best Summer Sips to quench our thirst in this toasty weather!
Ever since I tried this grapefruit frosé at a friend’s baby shower, I knew I needed the recipe to make at home. It’s so simple and quick to make with only 3 total ingredients!
Helpful Tips to Make Frozen Rosé
- Pick a rose that is dark in color
- After freezing and blending the rosé it will lose some of its color and become diluted, so try to choose one that is full-flavored and rich in color. I love the Gerard Bertrand Cote des Roses, it doesn’t hurt that the bottle itself is gorgeous too!
- Use a spout to pour the rose and grapefruit juice
- I use a measuring cup with a spout to pour the rosé and grapefruit juice into the ice trays for minimum messes. It also helps to put the ice cube trays in a casserole dish to prevent spills and easy transfer in and out of freezer.
- Use crushed ice in the blender
- Using crushed ice instead of cubed will help with the blending in your blender. It also will be more of the same consistency as the frozen rose and grapefruit juice ice cubes, and the crushed ice will not overpower the flavors.
- Freeze your drink glasses
- It always helps in the summer (and all year round!) to freeze your cocktail glasses before pouring your in drink. I forgot to do this when making this recipe for the blog, and by the time I had all my drinks poured and pictures taken, the frose wasn’t frozen anymore!
