With freezing cold temperatures here in Texas lately, I wanted to add some cozy + winter touches throughout my home. I normally like to de-clutter and simplify this time of year, and adding soft and subtle winter accents are the perfect way to do that!
My favorite way to add coziness to any space are fur, velvet and knit textures. Whether it’s furniture, pillows, throws (or all three!) adding in these soft and layered textures and fabrics are sure to add a cozy warm vibe!
To bring a little bit of winter touches, I added in some birch logs and branches. They are great for neutral holiday decor, and transition well to a clean winter look too!
I wanted to add a few glam accents as well, and my favorite ways to glam up a space and add some sparkle are with mercury glass. I’ve collected mercury glass pieces over the years from vases to trays to candle holders, and the great thing about them is even though they’re all unique and individual pieces, they go well mixed all together. They’re also great to bring in a little glam and elegance to a space without going over the top!
I decided to leave up my silver glittered snowflakes for a little while longer, I thought they added a fun winter touch and went well with my glam mantle theme. I’ll probably switch them out for some spring wreaths in a few weeks, but I couldn’t part with my glitter snowflakes just yet!
Oooo, such a pretty look! We are actually redecorating right now so I’ve been searching for some new ideas!
Thanks Amber! So nice to redecorate a little after Christmas is over!
Gahhhhh!!! This is absolutely STUNNING! I’ve always wished we had a fireplace for this reason!
Oh wow thanks so much Rachel! I’m in Texas, so really it’s only use is for decorating, lol!
I’m a total sucker for all white winter decor! Gorgeous!
Thanks so much Kelly! Winter white does have a certain charm about it!
That mantle is beautiful! I love all the decor!
Thanks so much Alyssa!
This is so glamorous. I am not a designer at all. I barely decorate because I fear commitment. I need to get something going though.
Lol that’s why a lot of my walls are bare, I hate comitting to something that I might no like! Take a chance, though you never know you might love it! And you can always switch it around when you get tired of it!
Absolutely gorgeous! Love what you have done here!
Thanks Nicole! It was fun decluttering after Christmas!
That glam mantle is so chic! Come style my house please!
Thanks so much Bee! Your too sweet! I’m headed over 🙂
These are gorgeous photos. I tend not to decorate for the holidays as I always hate the thought of having to take it back down. I am loving the mercury glass pieces!
Yes, that’s always the worst part. An easy thing to do is decorate with items you might already have like candles, etc. and just add small touches here and there!
Your mantel is gorgeous. Mantel decorating is my new obsession, I was sad to take down Christmas decor so I’m working on a V-day one.
Thanks so much Tiffany! Mantles are always fun to switch out each holiday!
I’ve been looking for some mantle inspo- mine is naked. Thanks for sharing!
Oh good!! Thanks Stephanie!
